Program Format

Our innovative enrichment program uses an experiential format offering educational and social support to students.

Middle school students typically face academic challenges, while going through developmental changes at the same time. If the combination of these challenges remains unaddressed, students become discouraged, frustrated and unmotivated, thus, contributing to a pattern of under performance in school.

These are the students who, then, become invisible in the classroom, and are prone to disappear or dropout in high school.

The Healing Forest Institute’s program model intentionally addresses these issues through the blend of camps or retreats to foster teamwork and social skills, structured travel adventures and experiential programs , and workshops supportive of academic enrichment, thus, enabling students to have meaningful real world learning experiences under the guidance of caring adults.
